- It’s hard to speak about war and peace in a way that’s timeless like Billy Bragg can. Maybe he wrote Between The Wars in anger over Margaret Thatcher’s actions against the coal miners in Britain in the 1980’s, but for us it’s just as poignant today.
Thank you. One of my favourite songs. Your pedestal may be small, but please condemn the occupation of Palestine and the genocide of its population. Thanks. M.
I always like covers when they bring something new and original to a song. Well done!
Terrific version. You' done yourselves proud!
thanks, James!
Fantastic version of a great song. Well done
Awesome folks peace hope to see you in Scotland some time. ✊🏴
This song is even more frighteningly applicable in 2018.
What a great version of a great song, always makes me feel positive, even more now I know it`s crossed the water. Brilliant, thank you x
glad you enjoyed it, Russell!
Great version!
Great cover of Billy Braggs timeless classic
I really like this version, it brought a tear to my eye. Well done people thanks for uploading.
and hopefully a smile, too!
Yes, it's bitter-sweet, I was in my twenties then - when this song was released - my father and grandfather passed away at the end of that miners' strike. Both had been miners, both had gone to fight in WW2, both had seen friends die. It was the end of one era and the start of another. They both would have loved this song. "From Cradle to Grave" was what they were promised, they and their children. One day we will win it back.
This song was superb (as were the rest of them) at the Manchester Met last night..
Amazing version! The song works better with an American accent!!
Great song beautifully performed.....saddly very timeless song
thanks for checking it out, Greg - music carry us through--
